Hill Crest Wine Farm

Hillcrest Estate Durbanville wine routeThe one wine farm that we return to every time we are in cape Town is Hillcrest. This boutique estate Durbanville route and is a short journey through the northern suburbs of the city.
can be found on the

The estate naturally boasts some of the finest wines in the region, and yet this doesn't overshadow the superb restaurant and shop on the grounds. It was at Hillcrest after all that I learned to differentiate a Malbec from a Shiraz, and not just good wine from bad wine!

With scenery that drowns your senses in beautiful sights, sounds and fragrances, I can think of no better place than to spend my Sunday afternoon.

So what makes this place extra special? Apart from the excellent wines of course, they also grow olives. No not those weeny little olives you get from a supermarket that have been bottled thousands of miles away. These are local fresh olives and you can taste the difference. I have never left Hillcrest without a stash of wine under one arm and a stash of olives under the other.

The staff are friendly, the location is easy to find , but remember to book, especially over the weekend. The place is simply very popular.
